Judge Dredd

JUDGE DREDD

Judge Dredd is another of my favourite comic book heroes, he too has been around for a long time, but the best thing is he is a UK invention! He is the main star of the long running comic 2000AD, and many of the now famous British artists and writers started their careers with this character. Set in an apocalyptic future after a nuclear war has destroyed most of the earth Judge Dredd is the law in 'Mega City One', a place teeming with criminals, mutants, murderers, and huge tower blocks that house thousands and thousands of people together, and crime is out of control.

This is a painting of Judge Dredd's weapon of choice the 'Lawgiver MK II, and his badge of justice.

This is a painting I did of  brilliant actor Karl Urban who played Judge Dredd in the 2012 hit movie 'Dredd', it also includes Olivia Thirby who played Dredd's young psychic partner 'Judge Anderson. The movie really captured the essence of the comic and Dredd's character, hopefully there will be a sequel.
