Spock - Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan
Spock. The Legend. The Icon. Nothing has stood the test of time like
'Star Trek', there have been many incarnations over the years, 'The Next
Generation', 'Voyager', 'Enterprise', the movies, some good - some bad, but
the characters from the original series have endured the most. Kirk, Scotty,
McCoy, Sulu, Uhura, Checkov, and the most enduring of them all Spock.
Played with great dignity and reverance by the one and only Leonard Nimoy
he has been etched into the memory of a generation who grew up with him.
I chose to paint his portrait from 'Star Trek II - The Wrath Of Khan' because
to me he was at his very best, saving his friends and crew by sacrificing
himself. "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one."
The Women of Star Trek - The Next Generation
Star Trek - The Next Generation was the first series to be produced when
the franchise was re-incarnated in the 1980's. As with a lot of series like these
many of the most interesting characters were the ones who only appeared
occasionally, and the 'Next Generation' was full of strong women role models.
The various episodes that included, (from left to right,) Tasha Yar, K'Ehlryr, and
Ro Laren did not number many but they left an impact on the fans and are well
remembered. They were played by Denise Crosby, Suzi Plakson and Michelle
Forbes respectively. I basically just wanted to do a painting of these three
characters because they were so memorable in the show and I enjoyed their
stories.
Terminator 2
I found this pencil sketch not long ago and thought I should put it on the website.
Not a painting obviously, but quite a detailed drawing. I do remember it taking
quite a long time! I am a huge fan of the Terminator movies, and really loved
'Terminator Salvation' despite what the critics said about it!
